I’m so glad you want to learn more about Heirloom Explorer and me, Lisa, the face behind this account. When I started my instagram account, and subsequent blog, I never expected to meet so many wonderful Instagram friends along the way. Being inspired by your creativity and witnessing your journeys on this platform has been a gift. I’m grateful to have discovered this community. Thank you!
What I Write About Here
To be honest, this website is a work-in-progress. I enjoy writing and capturing stories, and this blog is a place for me to write longer-form observations and insights that just aren’t conducive to an Instagram post.
Mostly I write about using, preserving, and sharing family heirlooms, including how to overcome the guilt many of us feel when deciding what to do with our sentimental things. I love exploring the history and family stories behind the heirlooms, and I love finding creative ways to preserve these stories.
I’m all about using the good stuff everyday, but there are some of the dangers in family heirlooms, especially in using vintage china and crystal. A few of my writings are about how I use heirlooms in everyday and seasonal decor.
And of course, I had to write about that time I got tickets to the Antique Roadshow!
