Chances are if you are reading this you are an heirloom explorer. You are curious about the past, you cherish family treasures, and you always want to know a little bit more about how people lived. You are happiest when treasure hunting, nostalgia, and historical events collide. And of course, preserving family history for future generations is important.
Welcome, you are in the right place.
My journey as a heirloom explorer gained some urgency when I was helping my mother-in-law before and after she passed away. You see, during our visits, she would share these amazing stories about her life, often prompted by looking around at the things she owned.
When she passed, I discovered her children and grandchildren didn’t really know these stories. And when it came time to pack up and sell her home and her children were making decisions of what to keep or toss, what to donate or sell – they had no idea of the value of their mother’s stuff, let alone why these items were so special to her all these years.
I decided then, that I wanted to help people like you explore and share the stories in their heirlooms. So I’m glad you are here. My hope is to inspire you on your own journey, while sharing the tips and resources I’ve learned along the way and help you safeguard those family stories.
